Jodhpur is a city in the desert of the Northwest Indian state of Rajasthan. The light of the sun is directly dropped on this city and because of this the temperature of this city is quite higher than other cities of cities and that's why Jodhpur is also known as " Surya Nagri".
Jodhpur is founded by "Rao Jodha" in 15th century.
The tourist places in Jodhpur are as follows:-
Mehrangarh Fort
Mehrangarh Fort is a former palace that is now a museum displaying weapons, painting & elaborate royal palanquin.
Mehrangarh Fort is filmed in many Bollywood movies such as " Veer" by Salman khan.
Mehrangarh Fort is also filmed in Hollywood movie Dark knight Rises.
Ummaid Bhawan Palace
Ummaid Bhawan Palace is founded in 1929 by Maharaja Ummaid Singh.
Ummaid Bhawan Palace is divided into 3 parts:-
1- Royal family's Habitat
2- 5-star hotel
3- Museum
In previous year Ummaid Bhawan Palace's room is got the 1st rank in a world class 5 star hotels. Ummaid Bhawan Palace's rooms are considered as the best royal, luxurious rooms all over the world.
Jaswant Thada
Jaswant Thada is the place where all the members of the royal family are Funeral after their death. Now Jaswant Thada is a tourist place and a very peaceful place.
Kaylana Lake
Kaylana Lake is a beautiful lake mounted between beautiful Valleys. Kaylana Lake is an only place in Jodhpur where you can enjoy boating see the beauty of nature and explore yourself.
Mandor Garden
Mandor garden is also a palace where you can relax and see the excellency of architecture.
According to the Hindu, mandor is the laws house of Ravan. His wife Mandodari is the daughter of Mandor's King.
Mandor is the ancient capital of this principally. In the present time there is many ancient Hindu gods temple and some old things of Ravana wife Mandodari.
- MASURIYA HILL
Masuriya hill is a beautiful hill and this is divided into 2 parts
1- Lord Ramdev Temple
2- Garden
Masuria Hill is the place where Lord Ramdev kills Demon Bheru.
Veer Gurgadas Rathore garden mounted on this beautiful hill, and also a statue of Veer Durgadas Rathore who seen by nearby places of Masuriya Hill.
OLD CITY
If you visit JODHPUR and can't go to see the OLD city then your trip is incomplete.
The old city is coloured with blue shades that's why it is also called a blue city.
The old city market is famous for its Cloths market, and it's blue shades.
Ghantaghar is a part of Old city and a very famous shop for lassi - Mishri all.
Ranier, Jagnath, Gulab Sagar all are part of Old city. The festival Holi is very popular in this city. The old city is a perfect example of socialism.
Balsamand Lake
Balsamand Lake is also a very beautiful lake and now it is converted in to resort.
Stepwell ( Toorji Ka Jhalra )
Toorji Ka Jhalra is one of the famous places in the old city. Boys use this as a swimming pool in the summer.
PANCHKUND CHATTRIYA
Panchkund chattriya is a former graveyard where all Kings were Funeral.
This is graveyard before the Jaswant Thada.
Many kings of JODHPUR such as Rao Jodha's cremated.
Many songs of Bollywood shoots here such as odhni song in there Naam filmed here.
MACHIYA BIOLOGICAL PARK
Machiya Biological Park is a newly made Zoo in the JODHPUR. Machiya is mounted on the way of Kaylana lake.
In Machiya Biological Park there were many rare animals such as Indian lion, Royal Bengal Tiger, Fox, Wolfes, leopard, Black bear, alligator and so on.
RAO JODHA DESERT ROCK PARK
Rao Jodha desert rock park is the nearest place to the Mehrangarh Fort.
CHAND BAORI
Chand Baori was made my Maharaja Chanda somewhere around the 9th century. It is mounted in Abhaneri Village near of JODHPUR.
Chand Baori is the largest stepwell in the world.
Like these many places like RANISAR, GULAB SAGAR TALAB are the tourist places in Jodhpur.
OSIAN is also a fabulous tourist place nearby the JODHPUR famous for Osian Mata temple and Desert Safari.
