Bikaner - Land of Maharaja Ganga Singh ji

Bikaner is a city founded by RAO BIKA in 1486 and established in 1488.

The city celebrates its foundation day on "AKSHAY TRITIYA" by flying kites and eating special Rajasthani food that includes Bajre Ka Khichdi and Imli ka Paani (Tamarind Water) among other snacks.

According to beliefs, the MAA KARNI laid the foundation of this city.



The Ganges Canal, completed in 1928, and the Indira Gandhi Canal, completed in 1987, facilitated its development.

The famous tourist places in Bikaner are as follows:-

JUNAGARH FORT


The fort was originally called Chintamani and was renamed Junagarh or "Old Fort" in the early 20th century when the ruling family moved to Lalgarh Palace outside the fort limits.

Junagarh Fort is the first fort in Rajasthan who is not made on the height, this is the first fort in Rajasthan who made in flat surface and placed outer from the city.











In Junagarh fort, there is room in which more then 100 kg gold is Embarked on the walls and Pillers. 


GAJNER PALACE


GAJNER PALACE is founded by Maharaja Ganga Singh. GAJNER PALACE is mounted in the of GAJNER lake. This is like heaven in between the desert.

Britishers robbed money from Indians and then Ganga Singh makes a plan to rob Britishers. They founded this palace and provide comfort to British officers and used to hunting. By these British officers refuse to take tax and donate a lot of money to Bikaner.

Lalgarh Palace is founded by Maharaja Ganga Singh Ji. The palace is built between 1902-1926.

KARNI MATA TEMPLE

The popular story of BIKANER:-

Rao Bika founder of Bikaner is the first son of JODHPUR King Rao Jodha. He can't get his father's throne than he decided to make his own kingdom.
He comes to the land which is known As "Jangalpradesh"( Present Bikaner, Shree Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Churu) in that time and the capital of Jagalpradesh is Janglu village.
All the land is owned by Ner Jat than Rao Bika come to him and said to buy this land for making a new kingdom.
Than Ner puts a condition that coronation of a king is done by his foot's thumb. 
Bika accepts his condition and make makes new kingdom named Bikaner.

The foundation of BIKANER is laid by Deity of Durga "Maa KARNI".

Bikaner is a very famous tourist place in Rajasthan you can reach here by Airplane, Bus, trains, taxies and also by own vehicle.
