Pangong Tso

Tibetan for high grassland lake is an endorheic lake in Himalayas situated at a height of about 4,350 m. It's 134 km long & extends from India to China.

Lake is 5 km wide & cover 604 km2.

60% of this lake is in China. It's not a part of Indus river basin area.







Nubra  Valley

Nubra is a tri-armed valley in north east of ladakh valley.
The shyok River meets the Nubra or Siachin river to from a large valley that separates the Ladakh & Karakoram Ranges.







Foreign nationals are required to get a Protected area permit to visit the Nubra Valley.
Since 1 April 2017 Indian citizens are also required to get a Inner line permit to visit the valley.

Khardung Ia 

Khardung Ia, (la means pass in Tibetan) is a mountain pass in Ladakh region in JAMMU & KASHMIR. 

Khardung la is historically important as it lies on major Caravan route from Leh to 'Kashgar' in Central Asia.

During World War 2 there was an attempt to transfer war material to China through this route.







Khardung La is at times incorrectly cited as the highest vehicle accessible pass in the world. Reaches 5610 meters 250m west of 5545m, Mann pass in INDIAN- TIBETEN border.

In November  2017 BRO ( Border Road Organization ) claimed a new 19,300 feet world highest motorable Pass at Umlinga

Tso Moriri

Tso Moriri or Lake Moriri or "Mountain Lake", is a lake in the Ladakhi part of the Changthang Plateau in Jammu and Kashmir. 

Tso Moriri has been declared as a wetland reserve. A number of species of birds included bare-headed goose, the great-crested grebe, the Bhrahmin Duck and the brown-headed gull

Himalayan hares are abundantly found here. Moriri Tso is also called the 'mountain lake', owing to the peaks that surround it, towering at a height of 2000 meters, shutting it off from the outside world.





Best time to visit Tso Moriri Lake

From the month of January to March, Tso Moriri remains mostly frozen, extremely cold conditions with no options to stay around the lake. During April, it starts to melt and starts transforming into the beautiful multi shades of blue colours off the shores. May, June, July and August is the peak tourist season but as compared to Pangong Tso, there are fewer tourists that visit.

Lamayuru Monastery 

Situated at a height of 3510 metres and about 127 Kms from Leh this is the oldest Tibetan Buddhist monastery.

 The monastery is maintained by the Red Hat sect of Buddhism.Beautiful collections of wall paintings rich in colour, murals, thangkas and scriptures make the visit to the monastery worthwhile.





Landscape  here resembly a moonland like terrain & here led to a sprut in camps & road trips  conducted in this region.

Gompa 

Gompa, also known as LING, are Bhuddhist ecclesiastical fortification of learning; lineage & sadhna.

How to reach Ladakh ? 

Jammu Tawi is the closest railhead, located at a distance of approximately 708 Km from Ladakh. In order to reach Ladakh, you have to hire a taxi or can board a bus from outside the railway station. It will take around 15 hours toreach the heart of the city, Ladakh.

But most importantly ladakh is now biking capital of INDIA so best way to reach Ladakh is to by Bikes.
